A surgical tech or SPD role at Centura Health is not just an opportunity to be a difference-maker, it's the chance to harness the knowledge, support and potential that surrounds you. As a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech with Centura Health you will:* Works under the supervision of the surgeon and RN. * Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.* Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.Day to Day duties: * Scrub on all cases. Primarily, Specialize in Heart, Vascular, GEN, GYN, Urology, Ortho (Totals/ Sports Medicine), Spine, Neuro, Plastics, Robotics (DaVinci XI) and Trauma.* Dedicated service teams for hearts and Vascular only. Associates are cross trained for all other services. * Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations. * Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day's cases.* Maintain Sterile field during procedures. * Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon's needs* Maintaining and updating preference cards. 16 OR SuitesApprox. 250-350+ cases per month Schedule: PRN-variable per surgical volume and current unit needs Call: No call required but extra shifts may be available to pick up Callback- 30 min call back radius required if taking call  Per policy PRN requires a Min availability for 5 shifts in a 6 week schedule block and 2 holiday per year What You Bring/Job Requirements:In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: * Basic Computer skills required.* *At least One year of Operating Room (OR) experience required** Experience in a specialty field preferred.* HS Diploma/GED required* Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required* BLS from the American Heart Association required* Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. * A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech required* Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) requiredPhysical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)Your Connected Community:When people and places align, incredible things happen. We specialize in heart, vascular, general, gynecology, urology, ortho, spine, neuro, plastics, robotics, and trauma procedures on adult patients only.
