The Health Technician is assigned to the Acute Hospital Services Service Line and is responsible for patient related activities which include, medical record management, scheduling of all patients to various clinics, appointments and/or tests, information activities, routing control and other related services for patients. Assumes responsibility for the accountability of all surgical instruments and equipment during the surgical procedure; functions as a second circulator for complex surgical procedures. Assists in training residents, medical students, nursing students, operating room technology students, and new OR staff in the operation of equipment, sterile technique, handling of instruments, and OR procedures to include the scrub role in surgical procedures.
