Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join AMG Orthopedics at Clark. The successful candidate will have experience as a Physician Assistant in an surgery setting. Essential Job Functions:
Assists surgical cases with provider in operating room; manage pre-operative and post-operative education and follow up.
Evaluates patient independently and in conjunction with provider, performs comprehensive physical examination, and gathers patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
Performs minor therapeutic office procedures, such as injections, aspirations, suturing and wound care, managing infection, fitting DME.
Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
May have training in a particular medical specialty.
Complete patient forms.
Some after office-hours answering service phone calls.
Other duties as assigned.
BS Degree required
MS Degree in Physician Assistant studies required
A valid NJ PA -C License
AAPA Certified Current BLS certification required
ACLS certification preferred
0-3 years in Surgery
