This is an Open Continuous Announcement that will be used to fill vacant positions through out the Fayetteville VA Medical Center and its Heath Care Centers. This position is open to all Licensed Practical Nurses currently seeking employment in Fayetteville, Supply, Goldsboro, Sanford, Jacksonville, Wilmington, Camp Lejeune, NC. Licensed Practical Nurses will be assigned to interested units throughout facility. The Licensed Practical Nurse practices in a complex patient care setting in collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues and the department nurse/unit manager. There are vacancies for Licensed Practical Nurses in a variety of specialty areas to include: Critical Care (ICUs, Step down ICUs, Emergency Departments) Acute Care (Medical, Surgical, Oncology, Cardiology, Urgent Care) Outpatient (Specialty Clinics, Primary Care, Endoscopy, Dialysis, Urology, Dermatology, Pain Clinics, Hem/Onc- infusions clinics) Mental Health (Acute Mental Health Inpatient, Chronic Mental Health Inpatient, Detox/ Substance Abuse) Geriatrics / CLC (Hospice, Dementia Care, Palliative, Long Term Living) Long Term Care (Subacute Rehab, MDS Coordinators, Spinal Cord Injury) Operating Room / PACU (Patient Acute Care Unit) Case Management/Analytics The Licensed Practical Nurse will function under the direction of a registered nurse in support of the physician or mid-level providers. The LPN will perform, report and record assigned nursing care in the Medical Clinics, including, but not limited to: Assisting with minor procedures, including obtaining and arranging necessary equipment, positioning patients, ensuring comfort and privacy - monitoring patient during the procedure Provision of direct nursing care to patients with an emphasis on patient teaching, care coordination and interventions such EKGs and phlebotomy Documentation of care activities Perform procedures, treatments and delegated tasks Medication administration and oxygen therapy Clinical reminders with appropriate consults and alerts as indicated Cleaning and reprocessing of reusable medical equipment Preferred Experience: LPN experience preferred.
