URODYNAMIC PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT
The PA will provide direct patient care to individuals seen in and through the context of the Duke Urology Clinic and/or as a patient of the Division of Urologic Surgery at Duke University Medical Center, Duke University Hospital, The Ambulatory Surgery Center, or Lenox Baker Hospital. These patients may be male or female ranging in age from 2 years through adulthood (99+).
The PA will practice primarily within the realm of the Urology Clinic (1G) and the Urodynamic Laboratory at Duke University Hospital. The PA will augment the physician's ability to provide medical services to patients both with patient clinical visits and by the performance of complex diagnostic urodynamic procedures. The PA will perform fluoroscopic and radiographic procedures as part of the testing procedure; preparation and distribution of reports of studies performed; assist in data collection and processing; schedule daily laboratory appointments; liaise with referring physicians and other hospital personnel; participate in the delivery of direct patient care within the scope of authority granted by the North Carolina medical Board; participate in patient teaching; and teach urodynamic procedures to other physicians and hospital personnel including physicians and personnel from other institutions as needed. The PA shall also have responsibility for the maintenance and repair of urodynamic equipment, and responsibility for ordering equipment and supplies deemed necessary for operations of the Urodynamics Laboratory.
The PA shall participate with the Attending's, the Reconstructive Fellow and APPs in the care and management of Duke Reconstructive Urology Patients. This may include those with an InterStim Neuromodulation device. The PA shall assist with placement of the device in either the Urodynamics Laboratory or operating room setting as indicated. The PA shall also be responsible for programming and / or re programming the generator as deemed necessary by the treatment team, and may order radiographs as necessary to evaluate malfunctioning or non-functioning devices. Current practice may include all patient ages and sex.
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. A Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred.

Must be licensed in the state of NC, and be certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
