The Urology Surgeon at the St Cloud VA Health Care System, will ensure the quality and timeliness of the services provided, customer satisfaction, as well as compliance with the standards of accrediting bodies such as the Joint Commission and the Inspector General's Combined Assessment Program. The right Physician will ensure appropriate use of the available resources and will be responsible for the state-of-the-art standards of care in Surgical Service, and collaborates with other services as appropriate. The Urologist provides surgical treatment with urologic injuries and diseases, performs a full range of complete Urological surgical procedures, diagnostic, management, and illness-related counseling services to the Veteran population served by this facility. They assure the provision of high quality and safety patient care both in and outside of the operating room. Duties: Provides a full range of Urology services to our Veterans, however, major duties include, but are not limited to the following: - Participate in and/or manages all aspects of a Urology Surgery Program, to include outpatient clinical and administrative. - Perform administrative duties related to patient care management including: entering progress notes, histories and physicals, discharges summaries and consults, etc. - Use electronic medical records - Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including Nursing, Anesthesiology, Podiatry, Mid-Level Surgical Providers and medical support staff to ensure prompt and efficient delivery of patient care services. - Provide guidance to Urology Mid-Level provider - Participate in service level and hospital committees as needed and participate in the facility peer review program. - The incumbent duties will include diagnosing, treating and managing patients with urological diseases per standard, usual and acceptable or customary methods and techniques in the outpatient setting. - Other services include, but are not limited to: treatment of genitourinary medical conditions, performing outpatient surgical procedures, provide consultations, work ups and pre-& postoperative care. - The Urologist will establish professional working relationships with other clinical service providers within the center and outlying Community Base Outpatient Clinics (CBOCS), providing telephone and e-consultations, consultations as needed and screening consults that are received for appropriateness prior to scheduling.
