The VA Illiana Health Care System is seeking a full time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for our Urology Department. The selected Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner scope of practice includes but is not limited to: Provides face to face Urology patient care at VAIHCS and at CBOCs as directed. Provides CVT and VVC access to Urology clinic as directed. Obtains informed consents for Urology procedures and other treatments. Completes H&P and enters orders for patients undergoing Urology procedures and treatments. Performs Hormone Ablation Therapy injections, voiding trials, intermittent catheterization and other procedures. Provides cross coverage for other Surgical Specialties as directed. Provides patient education for veterans and/or family members. Ensures that all lab results, pathology, and x-ray reports are properly documented, tracked, and communicated with Urologist and to patients, as per VA policy. Ensures accurate and timely medical record documentation. Coordinates patient care for Urology Clinic. Ensures clinic readiness for patient care and that necessary pre-visit tests/labs/records are completed and available to ensure clinic efficiency. Assists Urologist with review and disposition of incoming consults. Assists Urologist with procedures in clinic. Assists with the management of catheter changes and corresponding patient education.
