The Fairview Southdale Hospital Operating Room (Edina, MN) is the epicenter for GYN Davinci surgery. Within our 24 operating Room , our physicians perform over 20,000 surgeries per year including Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery, and others. Our Eye Surgery department is State of the Art and our hospital has been named a Blue Cross Blue Shield Distinction Center for Spine Surgery and Hip and Knee replacement.

Working as an RN- Nurse in the Fairview Southdale Hospital Operating Room, you will work among the top healthcare professionals in the nation, providing high quality care with a focus on patient safety and a team supported environment. This is a casual position.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient populations and for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedure and professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others (surgical technologist, nursing assistant, huc) as appropriate.

• Demonstrates the ability to establish an environment of safety for the surgical patient

• Demonstrates the ability to assess, diagnose, implement and evaluate treatments and procedures that contribute to the physiological stability of the surgical patient.

• May serve as a circulator or scrub during operative procedures. Demonstrates knowledge about the psychologic, sociologic, and spiritual responses of patients and their families to the operative or other invasive procedure.

• Supports patients rights and ethics by delivering consistent, competent, and ethical care, within legal standards of practice, while maintaining privacy and support of the patients value system

• Demonstrates knowledge of the health system environment and administrative issues that impact job performance, patient safety, and ethical considerations.

Required:

• Current MN RN license
• 1 year of RN OR experience
• Current BLS through American Heart Association for healthcare providers

Preferred:

• Bachelors Nursing Degree or willingness to obtain in the near future
• Due to the wide scope of services provided in this busy OR, the top candidate will be knowledgeable in variety of service areas including GYN, Urology, DaVinci, General Surgery, ENT, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Ortho; Neuro and Cardiothoracic are specialty areas.
• EPIC experience preferred.
