The Psychiatric Nursing Assistant for the Inpatient Mental Health Unit provides direct care to a specialized population, with knowledge and skills for observing and reporting changes in signs and symptoms or deviations from normal psychiatric and physical health status. Provides basic patient information which assists the licensed nurse in identifying changes of patient condition. Performs vital signs per unit protocol Perform safety check on all new admissions utilizing wand protocol Initiate patient belonging checklist for new admissions Complete unit orientation on all new admissions Completes EKGs as assisgned Completes bladder scans as needed Performs rounding every fifteen minutes per unit protocol Compliance with one to one observation protocol for safety Documents on assigned patients Performs patient education as assigned with CPRS template documentation Escort patients to appointments as ordered Maintain proficiency in PMDB interventions Compliance with unit SOPs for safety (plastic ware counts during meals) Maintain ACLS and/or BLS Certification Work Schedule: 11:00 pm -7:30 am, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, rotating weekends Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
