Carondelet�s Marana Hospital (located at 5620 West Cortaro Farms Road, Tucson, AZ 85742) serves Marana and the surrounding communities in the northwest Tucson area. The eight-inpatient bed hospital will offer 24-hour emergency care and surgical services with around-the-clock general surgery, hospitalist and emergency physician coverage. Designed as a neighborhood hospital focused on quality medical care, convenience and efficiency, the facility is smaller in scale than a typical general hospital. Like its larger Carondelet sister hospitals, it has an ER, surgical suite, diagnostic imaging, laboratory and other services. Carondelet Marana Hospital includes a 13-bed emergency department open 24/7. Patients with abdominal pain, sprains and broken bones, cardiac arrhythmias, seizures, minor trauma, lacerations, bladder infections, dehydration, pneumonia and flu are typical of illnesses expected to be treated in the hospital�s ER. An operating room and eight inpatient rooms will be available for lower acuity procedures such as gall bladder surgery and appendectomies.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Nurse Care Technician provides specific nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The PCT is required to provide an excellent patient experience consistent with Relationship-Based Care. Prepare hospital room for new admission. Anticipate patient needs. Respond to patient requests in a timely and appropriate manner. Perform patient rounding according to unit-specific guidelines. Provide care that is intentional and patient-focused. Ensure that environment is orderly and comfortable. Approach patients and families with compassion and offer emotional support. Demonstrate courtesy, respect, and professionalism. Recognize and respect cultural and spiritual differences and demonstrate culturally competent care. Works in a secure department with access to areas where medications are stored.

EDUCATION
Required: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.). Has completed PCT training, CNA training or equivalent training program.
Preferred: Current CNA Licensure.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Certificates Required: CPR Certification
Skills Required: Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred: Knowledge of hospital environment desired. Previous hospital and/or health care related experience preferred.

Other Required: Must be at least 18 years old. Must be able to work variable shifts, holidays and/or weekends. Must be able to perform required duties, including lifting and transferring, using proper body mechanics.
