Work Hours/Shift: PRN You Will Be Responsible For: Pharmacy Operations Actively performs all pharmacy functions and maintains active proficiency in: · Standard work parameters · Operational programs · Dispensing and compounding systems · Hospital computer systems · Medication ordering systems Maintains operational proficiency to provide coverage of (at least two areas): · Central Pharmacy · IV Room · Oncology Pharmacy Satellite · Operating Room Satellite · CVICU Pharmacy Satellite Oversees appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems · Accurately interprets electronic records · Maintains expertise in Cerner processes · Manages proper and complete patient profile record Accurately oversees the management of medication inventories and the preparation and dispensing of patientâspecific medication doses · Manages medication dispensing activities · Ensures accuracy of all medication products prepared for dispensing · Oversees oral and injectable product compounding · Prevents improper drug, dose, dosage form selection, expiration dating, and barcode scanning issues when checking products Pharmacy Practice - Completes critical medication order scrutiny, drug profile review, and patient monitoring to identify, prevent, or mitigate medication-related problems

- Facilitates assigned patient service lines and therapeutic areas and assumes responsibility for the outcomes of the pharmacy care programs in assigned practice areas
- Oversees and facilitates the pharmaceutical care programs and activities within assigned services

- Reviews and catches up the rejected order queue as well as medication-related products to be checked (patient-specific doses, Pyxis fills, med batches, trays, etc.) prior to departing from shift
- Supports other pharmacy operations and areas outside of current assignment
- Collaborates regarding medication order verification and medication availability
- Communicates with appropriate pharmacist regarding problem orders or patient care requests
- Provides coverage of medication order verification when areas are uncovered, or team needs support
- Works effectively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure the best outcome for the patient
- Demonstrates sensitivity to the perspective of the patient, caregiver, or health care colleague in all communications
- Actively supports teammates (pharmacists, technicians, managers)
- Uses effective negotiation skills to resolve conflicts
Qualifications
What You Will Need: · Bachelor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or other advanced pharmacy degree · PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or three years of clinical pharmacy experience - Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
