Overview The Fairview Perioperative 101 Nurse Education program is learner centered and structured to provide specialized skills (circulate and scrub in cases) and knowledge in Perioperative nursing for a licensed RN. We use curriculum created by AORN and learning modules presented through lectures, demonstrations and videos. Learning is reinforced in the lab and clinical setting. The classroom didactic, hands-on lab experiences and clinical practicum take place at a Fairview location. The method of evaluation will include chapter post-tests, final examination, skill demonstrations and preceptor observation in the clinical setting. Provides continuing education contact hours after successful completion. We are hiring for a Perioperative 101 RN, whom after training/education is complete will support the University of Minnesota Medical Center -East Bank. The East Bank campus in Minneapolis is part of the flagship location for University of Minnesota Health. The 21 bed Operating room serves adults, whileaveraging 60 cases per day.This location offers the widest range of hospital and clinical services provided through University of Minnesota Health. Our specializations include;Solid organ transplant,Blood and marrow transplantation,Heart disease, andCancer cases.Surgeries in this unit can include:
Classroom Education Location: University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview Minneapolis, MN or TBD Date: Position begins March 2021 (estimate) and training/education will continue for approximately six (6) months. Days/Hours: Training will take place Monday through Friday, hours will vary. This training program is full-time (80 hours per two-week pay period) for the duration of the program. After completing the paid training (typically 6 months), this position RN position will be located at Fairview University of MN Medical Center East Bank -Operating Room and the work schedule will require rotating call hours which includes weekends and holidays, 30 minute call time, Position is fully benefit eligible. The Periop 101 Nurse position requires a work commitment of 2 years. The Operating RoomRN provides services as a circulating nurse and is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for the patient undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedure, and professional practice guidelines.The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others (surgical technologist, nursing assistant, NST, aides, and hucs) as appropriate. Will be responsible for entering and updating information into our electronic medical records and to be able to use our Surgery scheduling system. Required Qualifications:
